Baby’s Hug-a-Bible

Baby’s Hug-a-Bible

Target Reader:

Probably a baby or toddler. It could also be a great bible for an early reader if the child wouldn’t be weird about “baby” being in the title. I think my 3 year old’s comprehension and interest in the bible is much deeper however, when she can read I have other bible books I’d want her to read.

Our Thoughts on this book:

Baby’s Hug-a-Bible is a perfect bible to give for a baby shower or for even a 1st or 2nd birthday. We read this one a lot with our oldest when she was just a little baby. I always wondered how much of it was sticking… but I really do believe this helped with her bible story familiarity.  She definitely learned about David and Goliath and Daniel and the Lions Den from this book!

The stories are in a sing-songy fashion. They are brief enough to get across the main point and/or characters of the stories. They are more poetic asking questions that point to God versus telling the whole story. The book refers to the reader as “Little One” and each story includes a “You” statement at the end to throw in a little bit of application for your child.

We felt our girls were drawn to this bible because of it’s fuzzy cover. And seriously – it held up very nicely!  I think this is a great addition to any baby’s book collection!
