Too often I find my self wondering “What Do I Do?”. Usually this is in my home when I see my child planning out how she wants jump off something or climb up high on something else. By the grace of God, she ends up not too banged up. I wonder this also, when I step back and think about how little food my toddler eats, how is she not starving? What do I Do? Other times, I wonder this when I don’t know what step to take next in life. Go left, or go right? Say yes or say no?

Proverbs 2:1-5 says:

“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, listening closely to wisdom and directing your heart to understanding; furthermore, if you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. (HCSB Translation)

Maybe I don’t know what’s going on around me… BUT GOD DOES. His word tells me to “Call out for Insight!” I can call out to Him – “Lord show me what going on here! Show me what to do and what steps to take. Give me insight to know how to handle this!”

Proverbs 2:1-5 points out a few things we need to do in life, to get through this life:

  1. Accept His words
  2. Store up His commands within
  3. Listen closely to wisdom
  4. Concentrate on Understanding (NLT)
  5. Lift up your voice (CRY OUT) for Insight
  6. Lift up your voice (CRY OUT) for Understanding
  7. Seek Understanding like it were treasured Silver that was hidden
HOW INTIMATE IS ALL THAT?

God’s desire is not to leave us hanging and confused.

His words are clear and true and we must accept them. We must take note of what pleases and displeases the Lord and live accordingly, knowing these truths in our hearts. Our ears should be tuned into wise things of the Lord. We must give attention to understanding God and His word. He allows us to, and commands us to ask, assertively and loudly for Insight and Understanding! He desires us to get it! He wants us to treasure and value the understanding only He can give.

My Heart

Lord – let me not miss this. You don’t want me lost in you, because I am found in you. You have all the answers. You know everything and you desire me to have insight and understanding. Help me to love your word and accept all of it and to store up your commands within me. Help me filter out the voice of the world and be tuned into the knowledge of you. I desire understanding, help me to not be distracted. Teach me to and remind me to cry out to you! Lord, change my perspective as needed so that I do seek after understanding as if it were a highly valued treasure. Let me not miss that. Let me experience this insight and understanding as it pertains to this life you’re having me live. Thank you for loving me this much and being so involved in my life! In Jesus’ name, amen.
